Random Shut Down

I've had mine 2 weeks - first week at home where Sprint signal is bad, second week on international roaming. No issues.

From what I've read (and folks have stated here), if you've done the updates, and have good battery contact, time for a different Photon.

Any thoughts on this being related to heat ... mind just shut down and it's been in the car with me in the sun on my lap...

I see it about 2-3 times a day. It only happens for me when I am in my office where I have a fairly poor signal. It never happens for me at my house where we have an AirRave (thus a strong signal). Most of the times that it happens, it is sitting on my desk so external heat shouldn't be causing it. If anything maybe an internal chip is overheating as it struggles for reception.

I have NOT rooted the phone yet so everything is stock and it is current on all updates that have been released. Also, I have already tried exchanging for another Photon and I saw the problems on both of the ones that I have had.

I really liked this phone, but seeing as my 30 days are up in a week, it looks like I will be forced to switch to a different phone. A phone that randomly shuts off 2-3 times is fairly useless to me.

Either that, or I can just stop going to work as that is the only place it seems to happen for me.

My phone has randomly shut down twice since the last update with today being one of those times. Not sure what's causing it but I can live with one shutdown per week until it gets fixed. Let's hope that number does not increase!
