RAZR Endless Boot Loop. Reason?

Hello, all. I have seen various posts regarding boot loops, but I have yet to find out what may be causing this.

I have had my RAZR for a couple days and all is well until I load it all up and then all of a sudden it kinda freezes and reboots, and reboots, and reboots! The only way to fix this is to hard reset using the power/volume up followed by holding both volume keys and perform a hard reset.

This works, however, re-installing all my apps is a pain in the a$$ and just when I get everything back to normal, it happens again!

WHY?

It is not rooted and I have had about a dozen various Android devices and never experienced this before.

Does anyone know what may be causing this? Is there a resolution for this?

I have seen various posts regarding an endless boot-loop process but I have yet to see what may be causing it.

Anyone else still experiencing this? Help is greatly appreciated.

I am not sure of the reason for sure...I have seen anti spyware/anti virus apps get blamed, I have seen task Killer/managers get blamed. All I can tell you for sure is I am getting my THIRD in the mail on Monday. I talked to the Verizon manager of our local store and he all but begged me to give it another try since they dont have another phone that compares right now. I will do my best to MAKE it happen again just to see but I am not sure how long I'll be holding my breath and praying everytime my phone restarts...it is a sad sad thing. I am comparing phones right now in the event it happens again he promised me to would do a straight trade.

P.S: Verizon tech support had me start the phone in safe mode (hold the vol up & vol down as it starts) and stated if it died in safe mode it HAD to be an OS or hardware failure, I have had 2 that have done that exact thing...SO in summary it is NO app that is causing MY boot loop issue. Not sure if this helps but if YOU find anything out is there a way we can communicate? I'll keep an eye on this string to see if there are any other responses...

You may have a bug living in your SD card.

Factory reset and wipe both the SD and media memories at the same Time. Reload reinstall everything from scratch. If it happens again, then its a phone issue for sure....

I know its a pain. But eliminating software firmware issues first must be done before blaming hardware .. Cause, same issue on multiple devices = user error..

Good iuck

Yeah, cute math equation. I DID fail to add that the first one had my sd card from my old Droid how ever the second one had a brand spanking new sd card that came with the phone...now what?

I am SO not the only one with this issue either so I doubt user error sorry...I am a computer geek who writes software and repairs computers for a hobby and I can't fix this, that is frustrating in itself. I would probably lean the same way as you are and I can only speak for my own situation. I did think of the sd card also since I have been using the same on since my first Droid. Which is why with the second one I put in a new sd card.

In case you missed it when you boot in to safe mode with the Razr at least it does not touch your sd card because with the Razr the sd is ONLY used for music and pics none of your apps or app data is stored on it so...when it dies in safe mode that kinda rules out the sd card too...at least that is what Verizon tech support told me when I asked about it...I tend to take their word for it since these are not like mini computers AT ALL i'll go with the ones who know more than I do about these...

I ALSO failed to mention that it got caught in the boot loop without an sd card inserted at all that was step # 1 for me, I thought it was trying to load the sd card at the same time and it just got over loaded and shut down like the old droid would do at times...no dice even with out an sd card at all it would boot over and over and over and over...

hey there, have you solved your problem?
mine is exactly the same.but not with the razr.
trying everything such as flashing rom, factory reset, hard reset.Yes,it is fix the problem first, but after many time turn off and on the device again, the problem came back.

Mine has been doing this for the past week or so as well. It'll "snap out of it" at a certain point, but exactly WHICH point varies. Sometimes it will cycle through just the DROID logo, or the boot animation, other times it will fully boot up, and then after about 2 minutes (just enough to psych you into thinking it's going to behave), off it goes again. It mostly seems to start acting up this way if the battery dies. It's done this other times as well (for no apparent reason), but if I don't get to a charger in time and it dies, I KNOW I'm in for a few hours of bootloop. Happens in safe mode as well. With or without SD card. I've pretty much accepted the fact that I'll have to get it replaced, but I just haven't yet felt like subjecting myself to tech support and all the things they'll insist I "try" before determining it's a hardware issue. ugh.
