I just talked to to my friend who works closely with Google and got some interesting info

1) The Razr HD is launching with Jelly bean in sept

2) The various builds of Jelly bean (grouper, toro, maguru etc) will be consolidated into one build across several devices to reduce fragmentation

3) There will be a new nexus phone in the fall

4) oh and one more thing. they are working on a playstation kinect esq add on to the nexus Q that allows you to control it via hand motions.

for those keeping track this is the same friend who told me about the nexus tablet and launch of jelly bean dates (which was all 100% correct)

no joke man. Apparently it was a team of Motorola employee's attempt to gain relevance again with their phones and prevent themselves from getting fired post merger. (sadly i hear the team got canned shortly after finishing the build). I gotta say, having a phone with near S3 specs with JB and blur is a lot more appealing to me than the s3. from what I hear blur is more minimal and closer to vanilla than touchwiz and i hate the physical home button and samsung proprietary apps compared to google apps. I am still holding out for the next nexus device personally.

I will be seriously pissed if the RAZR HD launches with JB before my VZW nexus gets its OTA.

I will be there to say i told you so either way ;)

Xbox Kinect. :p

Anyway, can't wait for the upcoming Nexus! I want it to be a top-tier phone with a strong push, and being sold unlocked at a fair price like the current Nexus, so I can leave Verizon and switch to T-Mobile and save a load of money.

Lol.

Nexus Q should have been a Gaming console, Google Tv and a media sharing device.

well if the list is true. I cant wait.

I didn't believe it when I heard it too.. but my source is certain of it.

You will see in due time. Kind of excited to see how it is going to be.

Your source is lying to you.

I hope your right about the HD launching with JB. I want to believe you, so I will :) This is almost certainly my next phone so Im hoping for the best. Iv been out of touch with whats going on with this phone since I was in Jamaica the last week and a half. Is there any release date yet?

Unless they somehow figured out how to make the builds work with all the bands I cannot see them "consolidating the builds into 1" since all the different bands/technologies always cause problems.

things looking a lot better in the wake of the sony and samsung announcements today no? I have also been told the other motorola device (inferior to the HD) that pics were leaked of is also launching with JB

That's why the leaked specs have them both launching with ics. And if the leaked specs hold up then this phone is a bust. I mean seriously? It's barely an upgrade from the razr maxx. It's what the maxx should have been. Motorola is just trying to milk every penny then can out of the Droid line

If Verizon wasn't involved, then shipping with JB would seem plausible. But since it is a Verizon device, it will no doubt have to go into 6 months of testing before JB will be released.

Just what I would expect from a Verizon device. The masses don't know the difference between ICS and JB, slick marketing and pushy sales people will sell this phone regardless.

The masses don't really need to know the difference though.
