I've enabled it and it gives me all the options. I just don't see it working yet.

I'm on a 2XL, and am connected, but I still see Text message, instead of Chat message. But, I don't know anyone else who might be Connected, to know if it works or not. I'm in the Message beta program, and have followed the instructions.

Didn't work for me even though mine says connected also.
