RCS has always been on the verge of adding new features constantly, and the new feature found in the latest beta appears handy.

This better be an opt-in feature and not enabled by default. If someone sends me a text, I should have absolute control over what I do with it. What if someone sends you a text with important information, deletes it, and later denies sending the information? Couldn't this open up huge legal and evidence issues?

With some luck, the "...sender attempted to delete a message...” feature will apply, similarly to how in some email services there's an ability to attempt to do email recall (which does or does not work sometimes based on if the recipient wants to allow it). The same debates will also happen for the "edit message" feature. In a perfect world, for some there might be a benefit if the RCS client apps were in the background able to retain and show the actual history of messages sent/received, and therefore any history of transactions that might have edited/deleted earlier messags. Presumably, all of that will still also be available at the RCS servers.
