Really appreciate some updated information

I really like the thrive, but have a couple of questions. I realize some answers are on this forum, but they seem to be all over the place.

1. Has the problem with SOD been fixed? Some of the latest posts at Amazon indicate a few people are having this problem even after update. What is the latest consensus?

2. Is gps working? I tried a thrive at a local store and used maps. Failed to lock on a satellite while other tablets did almost immediately. When I left the store after about 15 minutes it still was searching. Maybe a non-updated tablet?

Went to another store and thrive and other tablets locked on almost immediately---thrive was the last, but still in good time.

I have two Thrives.

1) For whatever reason, only one suffered from SOD with the original software. After the update, neither has SOD.

2) GPS works perfectly on both and lock on location pretty much instantly.

I'm very pleased with these tabs...very powerful and capable.

My Thrive never suffered the SOD syndrome. I've never used gps on any device; I always think I know where I'm going.

Ever once in awhile I get a digital urge deep within to purchase another brand tab just for something new but then I think: my Thrive has everything I need; it's a professional device, so why do I want to try a different one? I'm completely contented with my Thrive. (SIGH)
