Rear camera picture size - 16:9 vs 18.5:9?

So I know by default the rear camera picture resolution is set at 18.5:9 (weird ratio). What is the advantage of setting it at this resolution as oppose to 16:9. I know the file size is less that 16:9, but is quality the same or better than it?

What does everyone else set their resolution at?

Thank you,

Actually, default is 4:3 which is what I leave it at. The others use a cropped portion of the sensor so you won't get all the detail you can.
