The nexus prime, vigor , and ip4s are all in my running and I think the vigor is slipping away.
1) gingerbread w/ sense 3.5 bogging it down
* it may LOOK nice but in the long run i think it will slow down the phone
2) 1620mah battery. How is that going to power a dual core lte hd sense 3.5 phone
3) nexus prime running ICS
4) nexus device gets updates first vigor will be another thunderbolt
5) I'm really young and I'm almost in a way tired of android and its swaying me to apple. I'm not a fanboy of anyone or amything, I'm non bias of OS or manufacturers.
6) I think Nexus prime and ip4s are now the only phones I'm looking at.
I know all of you android fanboys for ever are gonna beat me up about THINKING about getting a ip4s but it's my opinion an I know alot about both os I've had the samsung moment and the epic and I've had the iPod touch 2g and 4g. Just don't beat me up for not being tie to android for I do want to go out and see what it's like.
1) Sense 3.5 is suposed to be a lighter version of Sense. From what I've read it came about in response to the Sensation/Evo3D reports of lag from Sense 3.0
2) The battery on the Prime is only supposed to be around 100mAh more than the Vigor's battery. That translates to around an extra half hour of usability. Even though it's a SAMOLED screen, it 4.65" compared to the 4.3 of the Vigor with both being HD screens.
3) The Vigor will run ICS. Maybe not at launch, but anymore any android handset released ends up with 2 major OS updates.
4) Yes the Prime will come out of the box with ICS and will get updates first. But first, I think that the Tbolt has been a problem child for HTC & Verizon. Look at the Inc2. It got an update to 2.3.3 then another around a month later to 2.3.4. Second, I think that the backlash they have gotten over the Tbolt will ensure that this won't be another Tbolt.
5) I'm not gonna bash you for going to iOS. I don't think it makes sense to me. You have less options unless you jailbreak, nothing is free, etc. Yes they do have better battery life, but they should. If android operated like iOS without true multitasking, I'd bet that android would get better battery life as well operating like that. To me it's like iOS is like a netbook (with Windoows Starter) and android is like a laptop with Windows7. Netbooks have less hardware options than laptops and Windows Starter only allows you to have a few things running at one time. Those reasons along with not wanting to support apple's business practices and issues with iTunes (see bleow) are the reason I don't even consider them.
6) Your choice and no matter what I say, it's your decision to make.
I am considering the Prime as well. But I have never been impressed with Samsung's build quality. Their flip phones were junk, and the biuld quality of their smartphones were never as good as Moto's or HTC's, in my opinion. The Prime is still under my consideration, but it's a solid number two for me.
My issue with iTunes happened after my ipod required service (new battery and hard drive). After I got it back, I went to load up my library. Everything went fine until it got to my purchased videos. It wouldn't transfer them saying I needed to be authorized to transfer or view the content. Every time I'd try to view the videos in iTunes I had to log in for each video. When I'd try to transfer them to my ipod, it'd ask me to log in, but then wouldn't transfer them saying I wasn't authorized.
I contacted apple care to resolve the situation. They had no telephone support, so it was all done by email. Every response from them was a link to something on their support page, which I had already tried before I contacted them. But I redid everything they suggested, to no avail. Finally I asked them to actually try troubleshooting the issue rather than sending me to links that I had already tried. This was after a week of emailing back and forth, wiping and reloading the ipod multiple times, & completely removing and reinstalling iTunes twice (and reloading my library each time).
They finally suggested that I repurchase the content that wouldn't sync. I asked if they could credit me for the content so I could do that, and they said no. So I asked I have to re-buy everything again because they couldn't resolve the issue. Their response was yes since the ipod was out of warranty. I countered with the issue wasn't with the ipod, but with iTunes not recognizing me as the owner of the content. I never recieved anotther reply from them even after several more emails. To repurchase the content I had would've cost me around $75, all because they couldn't solve the problem. Any decent company that couldn't resolve the issue would credit the account since the customer had already purchased the content already, but not apple.
After that I resolved that they would not be getting any more of my money. Now the only way I will consider any form of media player (mp3, phone, or tablet) is if it has the option of drag and drop rather than syncing.
