The nexus prime, vigor , and ip4s are all in my running and I think the vigor is slipping away.
1) gingerbread w/ sense 3.5 bogging it down
* it may LOOK nice but in the long run i think it will slow down the phone
2) 1620mah battery. How is that going to power a dual core lte hd sense 3.5 phone
3) nexus prime running ICS
4) nexus device gets updates first vigor will be another thunderbolt
5) I'm really young and I'm almost in a way tired of android and its swaying me to apple. I'm not a fanboy of anyone or amything, I'm non bias of OS or manufacturers.
6) I think Nexus prime and ip4s are now the only phones I'm looking at.

I know all of you android fanboys for ever are gonna beat me up about THINKING about getting a ip4s but it's my opinion an I know alot about both os I've had the samsung moment and the epic and I've had the iPod touch 2g and 4g. Just don't beat me up for not being tie to android for I do want to go out and see what it's like.

No one should beat you up over it. Its your choice, and you have to live with the phone and OS you choose. I came from iOS (iPhone 3GS originally, then iPhone 4) to Android, and I'm thinking about going back as well. The update cycle for Android is starting to wear me out a bit, and iCloud is a very alluring new addition.

I'm not really done with the Vigor personally. I think I've just had more of my attention drawn to the Prime as well. Most likely because of the lack of information on the Vigor.

Probably because of the ICS pictures and video leaks as well. To be completey honest I may have to wait until both are available and play with them in a store for quite some time since they each have their pros and cons.

I'm not biased towards any OS and I agree that android seems to ge getting stale after using it for 2 years. I'm so tempted to switch to the 4S just to switch it up but I don't think I'd be able to return to a 3G only device. And after using a tbolt I can say that I don't really care too much for htc devices.

1) Sense 3.5 is suposed to be a lighter version of Sense. From what I've read it came about in response to the Sensation/Evo3D reports of lag from Sense 3.0
2) The battery on the Prime is only supposed to be around 100mAh more than the Vigor's battery. That translates to around an extra half hour of usability. Even though it's a SAMOLED screen, it 4.65" compared to the 4.3 of the Vigor with both being HD screens.
3) The Vigor will run ICS. Maybe not at launch, but anymore any android handset released ends up with 2 major OS updates.
4) Yes the Prime will come out of the box with ICS and will get updates first. But first, I think that the Tbolt has been a problem child for HTC & Verizon. Look at the Inc2. It got an update to 2.3.3 then another around a month later to 2.3.4. Second, I think that the backlash they have gotten over the Tbolt will ensure that this won't be another Tbolt.
5) I'm not gonna bash you for going to iOS. I don't think it makes sense to me. You have less options unless you jailbreak, nothing is free, etc. Yes they do have better battery life, but they should. If android operated like iOS without true multitasking, I'd bet that android would get better battery life as well operating like that. To me it's like iOS is like a netbook (with Windoows Starter) and android is like a laptop with Windows7. Netbooks have less hardware options than laptops and Windows Starter only allows you to have a few things running at one time. Those reasons along with not wanting to support apple's business practices and issues with iTunes (see bleow) are the reason I don't even consider them.
6) Your choice and no matter what I say, it's your decision to make.

I am considering the Prime as well. But I have never been impressed with Samsung's build quality. Their flip phones were junk, and the biuld quality of their smartphones were never as good as Moto's or HTC's, in my opinion. The Prime is still under my consideration, but it's a solid number two for me.

My issue with iTunes happened after my ipod required service (new battery and hard drive). After I got it back, I went to load up my library. Everything went fine until it got to my purchased videos. It wouldn't transfer them saying I needed to be authorized to transfer or view the content. Every time I'd try to view the videos in iTunes I had to log in for each video. When I'd try to transfer them to my ipod, it'd ask me to log in, but then wouldn't transfer them saying I wasn't authorized.

I contacted apple care to resolve the situation. They had no telephone support, so it was all done by email. Every response from them was a link to something on their support page, which I had already tried before I contacted them. But I redid everything they suggested, to no avail. Finally I asked them to actually try troubleshooting the issue rather than sending me to links that I had already tried. This was after a week of emailing back and forth, wiping and reloading the ipod multiple times, & completely removing and reinstalling iTunes twice (and reloading my library each time).

They finally suggested that I repurchase the content that wouldn't sync. I asked if they could credit me for the content so I could do that, and they said no. So I asked I have to re-buy everything again because they couldn't resolve the issue. Their response was yes since the ipod was out of warranty. I countered with the issue wasn't with the ipod, but with iTunes not recognizing me as the owner of the content. I never recieved anotther reply from them even after several more emails. To repurchase the content I had would've cost me around $75, all because they couldn't solve the problem. Any decent company that couldn't resolve the issue would credit the account since the customer had already purchased the content already, but not apple.

After that I resolved that they would not be getting any more of my money. Now the only way I will consider any form of media player (mp3, phone, or tablet) is if it has the option of drag and drop rather than syncing.

If it means I can walk into a Verizon store on launch day and pick up two Vigors, I think you should all wait for the Prime...

Well said... too bad you've had a poor experience with iOS but a back up of your content would have prevented such displeasure.

The content was backed up in two different places besides my iTunes folder (external drives, I even tried loading them into iTunes with no luck).

The problem was that anytime I wanted to do anything with any video content I had purchased from them, it wouldn't recognize me as a legitimate owner. I could watch them in iTunes just fine (except for having to sign in to iTunes each time) but I could not load them onto my ipod. I had no problems with my music content, only the video.

Awhile after the episode I mentioned above I had to reinstall windows on my desktop, even going so far as to put it on a new hard drive. So I tried to reload my iTunes content after reinstalling windows, still no joy. So that pretty much cements for me that the issue is not on my end, but in iTunes not recognizing me as the authorized owner of the content.

Believe me if the issue was just having a backup copy I wouldn't have had any problems. The worst part is that they have a record of all of the stuff I purchased, so I don't see why giving me a credit to repurchase them was so out of line. They wouldn't be losing any money on the deal since I had already purchased it once, and they would've kept a customer who would've continued to purchase from them. After this they lost me to Amazon, & to me it's a lot better. No syncing, just drag and drop.

Only on Android would somebody list out the reasons they are done with a phone that they have never even seen or touched.

Only on android do other people bash someone for having opinions. I just don't understand why wherever you go on any android site somebodys all has a negative comment. Its a freaking phone site, and how do you know I haven't touched it.

I jest I jest. Relax. You are entitled to your opinion, and I'm not bashing you for considering other things. I do think, however, that you should wait until the device lands before you pass it up for having/not having issues that you are just speculating on. And I guess I don't know you have never touched the device, but considering almost nobody has, and I assume you would have mentioned it, I thought it was a fair guess.

I didn't see any mention of your having made a separate backup of the content in the post so mentioned it. Given your new information I'd be a bit PO'd with Apple as well.

Yeah I didn't mention that. It wasn't that I had lost them and needed to re download them, but couldn't get the video files that I had in my itunes folder (the ones that had previously worked on my ipod before I sent it in for service) to transfer to my ipod. The only reason I kept copies of the files in multiple locations is if one of the hard drives failed, I'd still have other copies available.

But yeah, they lost me as a customer. I might even give the i*hone a try if they got rid of the itunes interface. So I guess I don't have an issue with the i*hone per say (other than not wanting to support apple's push to eliminate their competition through the courts rather than by sales) but more with itunes.

There's nothing wrong with having an opinion, but normally you have to have evidence to back up when you claim something is faulty. Maybe you have handled the phone, but who's to say that the one you handled is the final build of the phone. I had heard that there were a few different versions of the test units for the Vigor, with different versons of android on them (i.e. some with 2.3.4, others with 2.3.5, etc.). So until the final build is released, you really don't have a handle on how it's going to perform.

What's ironic is you say everyone's comments are negative (towards your comments), but yours could also be construed as negative as well (towards the device in question). That's what happens with opposing viewpoints. If everyone's comments were positive, everyone would be agreeing with each other. If most of your opinions are getting negative reactions from others, that just means the majority of users feel differently than you do. That doesn't mean that one is right and another is wrong. All it means is that each opinion is right for the person with that opinion. With no final, confimred facts about the device, we can speculate and argue until we're blue in the face. But until the final build is released we cannot make a truly informed decision. And even then there will be differing opinions. Every single thing on this planet has someone who likes it and someone who doesn't. What's good for you might not be good for me. But I'll usually try and wait until all the facts are in before I make a decision one way or the other.

I'm going to try to hold out and do the same thing, but that will require some serious will power! :-\

Mark my words, around the time of the announcement or release of the Galaxy Nexus you will see HTC slip this ace in the hole into public with an accidental 'official spec leak' to drag sales away from Samsung.

I read every thread I can and try to figure out why people start new threads. There surely has to be a motive - usually wanting help or info. Was this one created for us to try to sway the OP back to Vigor? Or were we supposed to be swayed to iOS or the Nexus device? Did the OP just want validation for his claims - people to agree that the Vigor isn't worth waiting for? I don't understand what I'm supposed to get from or post in this thread. LOL

I think, as others have already posted, I am going to wait until these phones actually launch and compare them all before buying one. Is it my imagination, or have new phone prices gone way up while resale values on eBay or trade-in of old phones have gone down? Seems like decision-making on a new phone is more important than ever.

There are quite a few times that I read a new thread and wonder why the OP has started it in the first place. This is one of those and also why I have never posted in it.

What I find quite odd is that the OP uses the name "Androidjunkie" and then threatens to run into a corner and pout because a phone didn't come out when he wanted it to. But even more, that he then threatens to buy an iphone. Personally, I don't really care what phone anyone uses but me. I'm not an iphone hater or an android fanboy, to each his own. I tried an iphone and it just wasn't for me.

I'm waiting to see what the Vigor/Rezound and the Nexus have to offer. I won't buy either one the day it is out the door but I will likely choose one or the other once it has been out for a couple of weeks in order to see what other's experiences are like with them. If the Nexus does not have an SD slot in it and the virtual SD partition is less than 32 gb then that will be a deal breaker for me.

Get what you want people and understand that no one really cares if you want to pout and throw a tantrum because it is not being shipped on your time schedule. I was waiting for the Thunderbolt anxiously for a couple of months and I learned that all the craziness didn't make the phone any better. Battery issues and then reboot issues and then notification issues and the list goes on. For some it was no big deal but for my needs, lack of notications of voicemail was a critical failure and when the TB got gingerbread and no notifications I exchanged the TB for a Charge. The Charge is far from perfect but I can live with it for now.
