Reborn ROM freezes when connecting to WIFI

Just switched to Reborn ROM after holding out on VC for the longest time.

I like not having to constantly manage my memory. =)

However, one thing that is getting quite annoying is that it seems the phone temporarily freezes a lot when the WIFI is on.

The freeze seems to happen whenever I start an app that tries to access the internet. In the freeze times, it appears that the wifi is sitting idly not in use (and thus I am not connected to any wireless network), and then the act of having to connect to the wifi seems to freeze the phone for about 30 seconds to a minute. Then the phone unfreezes, the wifi is connected and everything is back to normal.
I've since turned off wifi, and have not suffered a freeze since, so I'm pretty sure the wifi is heavily involved in this freeze issue.

I didn't have this issue before Reborn, and the wireless network has been the same (unencrypted, mac address filtered).

Has anyone seen this or have any ideas how to fix this?

Well that might just be a bug in the rom, but you can always backup wipe and reflash the rom to see if that fixes it but otherwise that rom is discontinued and wont receive anymore updates *Stickies* but if you want an updated pretty stable rom along the lines of reborn rom, try the hydro or dante roms they are that I would say the most similar to reborn rom because they dont have all of the cm7 customizable features, unless you want to try something that is more customizable, then try kraven's cm7 or mrg666's cm7 or if you want pre-themed JB then try jonny5449's SiZzLiNg JeLlyBeAn TWEAKED CM7 based off of mrg666's cm7

I have been using RebornRom since it release, I have tried other roms and always come back to RebornRom, I have not ever had this issue you are having. My only question is how do you have wifi sleep mode set? I have mine set to never sleep. (it actully saves battery that way. Plus your phone will not have to keep connection to wifi every time your screen turns back on)

Oh! I did not know that there was a wifi sleep mode. It's always been set to the default...which appears to be to turn off when the screen turns off. I have changed it now and will see if that was the cause of my issues.
