Received Phone With Full Sprint Firmware

I ordered the EVO V from Radioshack on 6/1 and received it on 6/5. It arrived in a VM retail package with Sprint branding, as others have noted. However, it also had the Sprint 2.3.5 firmware on it. I guess it slipped through the line without getting flashed. Luckily, I was able to exchange it in store for one with the VM firmware. Oddly though, when I tried out the original phone before returning it, it activated on VM's network - voice, SMS, and data.

Also, does anybody know if the HTCdev bootloader unlock tool for the EVO 3D will work for the VM edition? Just thought I'd ask before trying it out.
