This is regards to my daughter's Samsung Galaxy J7 2nd Gen (2018). When me or her mother call her, all we hear is one ring, then silence. Our daughter answers, but neither of us hear the other.
I tested calling her phone from three different sources and all three had the same results:
- From Samsung Galaxy J7 1st Gen (2017) using Oreo 8.1
- From Samsung Galaxy J6 using Nougat 7.x (don't recall exact number)
- From my office landline
As stated, all three have the same results: one ring, silence, nobody hears the other. At first I thought it was an Oreo thing, but the above test seems to negate that.
I thought it was the "OK Google" feature interfering. She disabled it (I also disabled it on my J7 1st Gen). No difference.
I'm not sure what it could be at this point.

She'd been using her headphones and, after taking them out, her system didn't fully release the audio jack. Putting them back in and taking them back out and it was fixed.
