receiving mms issues?

Ok guys new to this but just wanted to know why some pictures aren't able to be received. I have the M8 and my friend has the HTC one max and pretty much all the pictures I get sent aren't able to be seen?
Also had this same problem with my M7
There is other phones that I won't receive pictures from anyone know what the problem is?

What carrier are you on? Do you recieve an error?

Sometimes I get an error and sometimes it just shows a time stamp but it says it's an mms on my text log

Had same issue. Couldn't receive all MMS messages either from some people. It was hit or miss. I switched to Hangout app until it was fixed.

I've tried the hangout app also still was not working but I could try on this phone and see what happens
Wonder if anyone has fixed that problem with their phones
