Receiving size error when sending pic/vid mail

Sorry if I'm beating the dead horse. I've read the stickys and searched the forum with no success. I am getting errors when I try to send picture and video mail with the regular messaging program on my Android incredible. The error says that the picture/video is too large. Is there a certain size that I need to make the pictures or videos. It defeats the purpose of having a great camera to take them in lower resolution. Thanks for your time. Any help is appreciated.

Mine will have a edit selection and I just hit it and it sends just fine,but not sure why it does it to all my pics also?

I believe 2MB is the max video size you can send via text message... Pics I'm not sure about...

I know Handcent SMS resizes pics, but not sure about resizing video...

Yeah, it always gives me the option to resize and then sends it okay. I'm using K-9 and Handcent.
