Receiving sms/mms text

Why is it when someone sends me a sms or mms text, it says I have to download it to see the picture or whatever it may be? And then sometimes it shows the message automatically. Weird, anyone know how to fix it without me having to press download?

I had this issue today where I got a photo in a message and I kept having to download it but it would never download, restarted the phone and then I was able to download it, typically they just show up automatically, personally I think it was some kind of AT&T network related issue as this is the first time it's happened to me.

If it happens a lot I'd call your provider and make sure your account is provisioned correctly.
