Recent App settings. Please help [Note 2]

The last update changed some of my settings. Now whenever I hit the button on the bottom [home key] to wake my phone up it brings up a list of shortcuts or recent apps I've been to on my phone. I can not find the settings to make it stop and it is very annoying. Can anyone please help me? Thank you!

if you're using another launcher like Nova Launcher, for example, you assign the home button different tasks.
