Recent apps list

Long pressing the home button brings up the recent app list (something I use quite regularly), but I'm finding that it's very inconsistent. Sometimes it works like it should, but just as often it comes up saying no recent apps when I have several running. Anyone else experiencing this?

Mine are kind of hit and miss too.
