Hi. I'm a noob. Had an Apple iPhone for 2.5 years through my employer. They recently decided to dump AT&T and go with Sprint... so I reluctantly chose the HTC Evo 4g.

I like Sprint well enough, have had them for my personal cell since they came to my area over 12 years ago, but I haven't bothered to upgrade my old smartphone (a Palm Treo Centro) since I got the iPhone.

As for the Evo, it's starting to grow on me after a few days. I've found that many of the iPhone apps are also in the Android Marketplace. After many frustrating hours, I've become an expert at getting Windows 7 .contact files (exported from the iPhone) into Google contacts and synced with the Evo. That wasn't so fun.

As for 4g, it's only available in a few places in the metro area (according to the clear.com map) but not at all available in the downtown Buffalo area where I'd be looking to use it. Of course, the Sprint rep says something like 2 months... where I can get a true estimate of availabity?

Lastly, I'm looking for a single mail app that I can use for Exchange/POP/IMAP and Hotmail, and have multiple accounts for each. Is there such a thing? (On iPhone I had to use 2 apps.) If you have a recommendation, let me know!

arielmt,

Welcome to Android Central!

Congrats on the new EVO, it's a great phone. If you're looking for a crash course on all things Android then check out this thread. It's chock full of great information.

For email, check out both Touchdown and K9 from the market. Both have very loyal followings and have more features then the stock email app.

They may seem a little pricy, but from everything I've heard they are worth it.

Again, Welcome, and have fun!
