Can anyone who's had both the G3 and Iphone (5 or any other) compare the reception? I live in an area with very poor reception, but am able to make calls and text using the Iphone (barely). Im concerned that if the reception is worse on the G3 than on an Iphone that I wouldn't be able to make calls. Thanks.

I'll try to do a side by side dbm comparison with my wife's 5 (my old one) in a bit

So that was weird. I have a microcell at my house (don't ask) and the ip5 had a dbm of 71 and the g3 had 77. As I moved away from my house and the microcell, the g3 had much fewer swings and was overall better by 5 or more. The ip5 actually lost service while the g3 was still around 100 dbm. Its very anecdotal, but promising

I know this isn't a comparison with an iphone, but the G3 is about 5-7db less than the Note3. I personally don't think the signal is as strong as other phones I have used.

You could always use WiFi calling. I'm not sure what network you are with, but sprint has it preloaded on the G3.

I'm on Verizon
