Ok Ive rooted my inspire 4G via one click root. Meaning the Rom I have may be more familiar to you as I know very little. I have a few force close problems and/or just simple Rom issues possibly. I have Rom manager pro and I'm looking into changing my default Rom. I already have a backup of everything but I would just like to know if someone could help a noob out with some suggestions for a Rom.

if you're getting those 'force close' issues.....try going into settings/applications/manage applications/superuser permissions and try clearing cache and defaults. that worked for me.

I've done that before and it does help but its very inconvenient. But generally, not specifically, when I run a program such as setCPU, it says it can't obtain root access. It also says one of the problems could be the Rom. Regardless the solution to that SPECIFIC issue, I'm still looking to find out what the significance of changing your Rom is and what is out there. I'm really interested in this whole thing due to the fact my rooted inspire can do just about whatever the hell I want. Rom tips are basically what I'm looking for tho because I'm lost right now and have no idea where I'm standing as of right now when it comes to knowing what's important about the Rom "scene".

I'll recommend one. It's called RCMix HD 3.4.

[ROM][03 Mar]RCMixHD 4G V3.4 |1.84.61.2|Blazingly Fast & Healthy Power [OC kernel] - xda-developers

Stable, fast, and its just a simple flash through clockworkmod. Kernel is included. I flashed the RCM Mix HD theme as well which I think looks nice. Make sure you wipe first, of course.

Youll probably get a bunch of different opinions here. Some are more stable than others. Best thing to do is try some out. Make sure you have a backup your current rom before you flash and you're good.

Check here too for more roms

If you boot into recovery, you have the options wipe data/factory reset and wipe cache (I believe it says). Also I think when you start to install a rom in rom manager, it gives you the option. I think its the same thing but I'm not 100% sure on that. I always boot into recovery and do it from there.

Do your research. Read up on how to flash roms so that you have a decent understanding of what you're doing before you do it. Then carefully read the specifics of the particular rom you want to install.

I just flashed this ROM yesterday and I'm very impressed. It's the only one I've been able to flash that doesn't put me into Roam on my signal meter.

ROM & Kernel] LeeDrOiD 4G v2.2.2 >>EPIC<< 15th March | Fast | Stable | Max OC 1.8Ghz - xda-developers

Very smooth and stable plus the kernel is amazing. It can OC to 1.8 but I'm only a tad over 1.5 and got a 2165 quadrant score. I also have better reception as well. Normally here at work I'm bouncing back and forth from Edge to HSDPA. I've been on HSDPA the whole time now.

Yep. On ATT and no internet issues. Battery life was bad at first but I remembered the FAQs from one of the AndroidRevolutions ROM about resetting the battery stats in CWM and that has helped a good bit already. I charged up to 100% and wiped the stats around 830 this morning and as of right now I've only gone down 11%. Not too shabby IMHO.
