Record Nexus 5 screen

Earlier when Nexus 5 released, I read it somewhere that one can record all the phone screen. Does anyone know how it is done?

If you are not rooted, read [Hands-On] Android 4.4 Screenrecord Gets The Job Done, But It's Not Pretty
If you are rooted, there are apps like "Rec" that claim to be able to do this. I use GravityBox module on Xposed framework, which does the screen recording.

There's a high performance built-in screen recorder in Android 4.4, but it doesn't to audio and is really designed to be run while connected to a development host. There are some apps like Rec (which looks to be very good) which get around the being connected to a development host issue, but requires root. Recordable (http://recordable.mobi/app) lets you record the screen without root, but requires a computer to finish the setup.
