Recorded video plays back in wrong orientation

I was taking some video with my Note 2 while moving around and when I played it back, I keep having to tilt my note to get it to play horizontally in full screen otherwise it keeps flipping sideways. This has happenned to me on my S3 as well. Is there anyway to rotate videos on the note 2 itself so that I can watch without having to hold it at an angle. Are you supposed to hold the note 2 (or S3 for that matter) with volume button on top or below when recording video. This only happens once in a while. Thanks

From my understanding, What ever way you are holding the phone while recording video or taking pictures is the orientation that it will be saved. Maybe I am wrong but that is how it works on my Thunderbolt.
