Imagine you're playing a movie on your amazing Nexus 5.
Now imagine you would like to share a scene on your social network.
The question: can you record a small video from within the movie app and save that clip?

You'll need an app to edit videos and save for sharing. I don't use this type of feature, so can't suggest anything that works well. Take a look at the Play Store for "Video Editing" and see what comes up. Please share anything that you find useful :).

4.4.2 brought native screen recording (no audio though). Unless you are rooted, you have to do this over adb though. If you are rooted, there are several options. Gravitybox module for XPosed framework has it, or you can download apps like https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...pps/details?id=com.spectrl.rec&token=az9tHpsC
If you are not rooted, read this KitKat Feature Spotlight: Android 4.4 Includes Native Screen Recording With MP4 Output

Do note that the movie may be copy protected, and the provider may be able to disable screen recording.
