Recording Audio on the Nexus 5

All ... I am really new to the Nexus 5, and I purchased it based on numerous positive reviews ... AND the capability to record high-quality audio. I switched to T-Mobile from Verizon to use the Nexus 5 as a phone, too. I stayed with T-Mobile for about 14 days before returning to Verizon -- due to no reception and too many problems with "customer care." I will appreciate any comments and recommendations about what app is best for audio recording -- using an external microphone. Too many comments abound about audio problems using the phone's own microphones. I realize this is a bit unusual -- buying a phone to use as an audio recording device, but .... If you do respond, please do not use too much jargon -- I am a novice, as I said, with the Nexus 5 and with Android (pretty much, anyway). Thank you!

I was just researching this today! But the page I saved is on my other phone. Google "nature sounds" and background noise android microphone and see if you find an article written by a sound blog.
