Recover app placement

I set my phone to the most basic power saving. When i brought it back up to regular power mode, my apps were missing and nothing was in the right place. I tried going to the app drawer to fix things, but seem to have made them worse. Now ALL of my apps are showing and are arranged in a helter skelter fashion. And now, my messaging app and the app button at the bottom of the screen are missing. What needs to be done to fix it?
