Recovery mode not working

I have a Note 3 (n900wm8) and when I enter any custom recovery I get a black screen and it reboots. I was running CM12 and I tried to enter recovery to flash a new nightly and it happened. I tried CWM and TWRP (flashed wish ROM manager AND again with Odin), same thing. I flashed the stock ROM and it still did not fix the recovery problem, but I found that I CAN get into the stock recovery fine, just not a custom one, which is what I want. What do I do?

rom manager doesnt work well with note 3.... try with odin to get cwm with the name n900-cwm-recovery-6.0.5.0-kk_L5.0(0812)... link is androidfilehost.(com)/?fid=95897840722641569
