i only see that type of thing when using incompatible version of swype

It's a development thing. Go into development and uncheck the strict mode enabled option.

I have the same issue. I downloaded a fake GPS tracker and at first I had a red square on Mt home screen then after I uninstalled GPS app it's now a red flashing frame. Can anyone help?
