Hey guys I hope someone can help. I have just moved to Red Pocket Mobile AT&T service (GSMA) I have been fighting with their customer service to get wifi calling turned on. They have told me that they provisioned my account for wifi calling but I have never had the option to slide it to on (either in phone app settings or in Network settings). I also don't have access in Network settings to VoLTE. The latest customer service rep asked me to pull the sim out of the Pixel 3 and install it into another unlocked phone. I did that into my Essential PH1 and it worked, I have access to VoLTE and wifi calling. Why does the Pixel 3 not recognize these provisions when it recognized them with the sprint SIM? And why does the PH1 work but not the Pixel? Thanks in advance.

Because they are very much carrier dependent. If the phone wasn't designed to tackle the specific carrier you use, it just doesn't work. For example, even for AT&T, I have two Pixel3s that I need to get two new SIM cards for them in order to get WiFi calling activated.

Usually, VoLTE is more universally supported than WiFi calling. WiFi calling requires the phone to check your carrier account to see if it is allowed to do so. When I activate on my AT&T, I need to read and agree to an AT&T agreement before it get activated.
