[REF] Complete List of Roms | Kernels | Rooting/Other Guides for Nexus S 4G

Is this a "Rooting for idiots" guide?
If not, can some one please post something like that?
Please and thank you!!!

Whats the difference between a Rom and a Kernel?

A kernel is the link between your phone's hardware and software, it controls everything. That's why flashing a customized kernel will allow you to overlock your processor (like going from 1GHz speed to 1.4 GHz speed) or undervolt (use less electricity to extend battery life).

A ROM is just the collection of files that makes up your phone's operating system, like the majority of what would be on a Windows installation disc. It has all the system apps like Phone Dialer and Messaging, all the framework files like the picture that is displayed as your battery meter and notification pulldown, as well as every other file that makes up the Android OS.

The end result is what is commonly referred to as "rooting."

Two Quick Kernel Questions:

1. Can you use the Netarchy Kernel with the gingerbread-ns4g-deck ROM?

2. What's the general preference: CFS or BFS?

Cheers.
