I have the ICS update available for my phone and i have read many user opinion that it just sucks and messes up the phone so i would like to know from anybody who has any experience with updating an s2, is it good? Should i do it?? Does it reduce ram? Will i be able to play high graphics game like nova 3,the dark knight rises like i could do now in my gingerbread? Is it worth the trouble??

Welcome to AC!!

I don't know specifically about the S II, but, I would love to have an ICS update on my X2. I am tired of running GB on my X2 and ICS on my Prime. And, I like the GUI of ICS better.

But, I guess if you are happy with the your phone the way it is, there is no reason to update. If you are looking for an update to fix some things, then, update.

Yeah there is a slight issue with wifi direct, since i am using gingerbread 2.3.5 the wifi direct require some kind of pairing while the v2.3.6 or ics doesn't need it. Because of this pairing limitation i couldn't send data but i could recieve it. So the Ics update will necessarily fix it but i dont want to mess up my overall experience for this one feature as i heard the update reduces the overall usable ram from 837 to 640mb so i am a bit worried a out the performance.

I know a lot of people have stated their problems with updates to the GS 2 but for me the only problem to date has been the fuzzy contact pic I get when I select a contact to call, otherwise I have MUCH LONGER BATTERY LIFE! totally unexpected which was my gripe about this phone, before and after I never experienced Wi-Fi issues, Bluetooth or any other so I guess I'm one of the lucky ones my apologies for those that have experienced problems because for me this has been one of the best phones I ever had. Oh I'm not dimissing the pic problem I hope in time this will be corrected in time.
