Reinstalled Froyo 2.2 Stock - How do I get rid of the OTA update notification?!

I'm going nuts! I love 2.2; the slow speed of the Gingerbread on this phone kills me.

But the damn notification just won't go away. How do I get rid of it? I'm rooted.

If you truly want smooth and fast?
Flash the Bean_Whiz or SlimRom and overclock to 480MHz min - 729MHz max.
Bean_Whiz-CM10v2.2.2CX has the entropy_n_rngd tool included.

Give it a try. What do you have to loose.

Thanks for the suggestion, I already have SlimROM, and switch between it and Froyo.

I've seen elsewhere on the internet that you're supposed to be able to find the update somewhere on the SDCard, but I can't; is there a way to delete the file to get rid of the update prompt?
