Remapping keys not working

I'm attempting to remap the voice and camera keys into play/pause and skip next keys. I followed the instructions from

[MOD] Remap Any Key on Your G1 (v3, Now can play/pause/skip Music with Camera Key) - xda-developers

without any luck. Has anyone been able to remap keys on the Optimus S? Btw, my phone is rooted and I pushed new files to my rw mounted filesystem and confirmed the files are still there after a reboot. I changed the /system/usr/keylayout/qwerty.kl file from:

key 212 CAMERA
key 247 FOCUS
key 217 SEARCH WAKE_DROPPED
key 216 VOICE

to:

key 212 MEDIA_PLAY_PAUSE
key 247 FOCUS
key 217 SEARCH WAKE_DROPPED
key 216 MEDIA_NEXT

Any ideas?

Nevermind, was editing the wrong file. I made the changes to thunder_keypad.pl and it worked great. Even changes the songs in Slacker.
