Remotely control my phone over the internet?

I'm a caregiver for a patient that has issues with dealing with her phone frequently. When she has a problem, she's not able to easily describe it to me, and she would have trouble following my directions either way. I'd like a way to be able to log onto her phone remotely, much in the same was I can assist her with Windows Remote Assistance. I tried AirDroid, but it says the phone has to be rooted to do it, and I'm not to that point yet. Is there a way to do this?

IMO Team Viewer QuickSupport has worked out best for me... However, there is still some user interaction that has to be involved... But it's fairly simple...
