Remove app from home screen?

Help! I just got my Hero yesterday and I accidentally added an app to my home screen that I don't want to see everytime I open it up. lol I can't for the life of me figure out how to get it off. I don't want to delete the app altogether (I don't think I can anyway.. it's a preloaded app), I just don't want it taking up space on my home screen. Can anyone help me with this? It's starting to drive me nuts!

Press and hold the app icon until it "lifts" from the screen. Drag it to the bottom.
