Remove Google from lower left

Picked up a Galaxy Tab 4 today and wonder how to remove the Google box from the lower left of all the home screens. Its not a search box cause tapping it does nothing.

I've tried removing the Google search app and Google Plus but nothing. Really don't want another launcher.

You can experiment with another launcher (I realize you don't want to keep it) and see if it disappears. I can't recall if that widget is part of the launcher or part of the ROM.

I'll have to try that. Do you know what it does? Clicling it does nothing.

Clicking it opens up the Google search app for me
