Your probably gonna have to wait for root and then for someone [If not yourself] to see if this mod for the Galaxy S 3 will yield any results for you.

Thanks y'all. Hopefully we can get root band run cm10 Lol. Wonder if the stylus will work with cm10?? Surely for certain things right

Sorry to hear that. I'm using the international version. This is not the first time I answered a question only to find out how different the carrier provided handsets are. :/

Am I the only one that likes this? What is the reason most people don't like it?

if you are on VZW you can do what i've been doing:

1. Pull down the notification menu
2. Press and hold down on the wifi notification
3. Click on App info
4. Force Close

It will be gone until you reboot, and so far i haven't noticed any issues from force closing it

Ditto. I don't understand why you wouldn't want to know the status of your wifi connection, but to each his own.

People would rather have a wifi toggle than a persistent notification. The persistent notification makes the notification area look dirty and cluttered.

This is how I feel also. I know the status of my wifi because of the icon in the status bar. The ongoing notification clutters the notification area and makes it where I have to scroll down to get to some notifications. I only connect to wifi networks I know, so I don't need to see the name of the wifi network I'm connected to.
