removed app is drainging my data/wifi

[Android Central Question]

My wifi turned off for a few days and i noticed my data usage shoot up. There is something called removed apps , its using sept -12gb oct -25gb, nov -37gb , dec - 20gb

This is very high and it says its all background and not foreground usage. i believe its a virus but i cant find it or access it. Please help

Welcome to Android Central! This has been discussed many times on this forum. Removed apps do not continue to use data after they are uninstalled. What you're seeing is the consolidated data usage of all apps you have uninstalled over recent time. If it goes up, that's because you recently uninstalled an app that was using a fair amount of data, and that data usage gets added to what was already being reported.

This is not a virus.

If you want to be sure about this, then don't uninstall any apps for the next month or two. With time, the data usage for apps that were uninstalled will fall off.
