removing apps from desktop/screens

I was able to remove icons from the desktop/screens by just removing them and not uninstalling them. I've tried to remove several apps on the v30 and it automatically uninstalls them or on some apps I dont even have a choice to remove them, they are just stuck there with nothing to do with them. Any advice?

The app drawer is disabled by default, so all your apps are on the home screens. You just need to enable it in settings - home screen - select home - home & app drawer.

settings - home screen - select home takes me to these three options and thats it, Home, Home with separate apps list, EasyHome. No home/app drawer. If I long depress the home screen, all the downloaded apps get a red x to remove them, but all the "factory" ones i can't touch, not even long holding the app to drag to the trash can.
