Repeatedly automatic touch

For some days I am experiencing this behavior. My nexus 7 automatically touches on different places on the screen. Its not usable.
For example, I open google chrome navigate a page. And I see it repeatedly pressing back button and I go to home page. When I am on home screen it suddenly starts many applications. It draws settings tray etc. I can not use it. What could be the reason for this?

Is it hardware failure? is there any way to fix it?

I've seen the same thing happen to me on occasion. The only fix that I've found is to either reboot the N7, or I have also found by using a memory cleaner app also seems to work.

That tip really helped me a lot. After the last reboot I haven't experienced this problem again. So I think this is not a hardware failure. Hope in the next version of android this will be fixed.
