My Verizon Note 4 starting making the 'just plugged in and starting to charge' sound last night for no reason.
Phone wasn't plugged in, nor did I charge it all day. I had about 25% battery left.

It kept annoyingly making the charging sound every 15 seconds or so.
Tried clearing all apps and cleared all notifications. Didn't work.
Power off & on didn't work. Finally had to do a battery pull and that seemed to kill the sound when it powered back up.

Phone was fine all day and just now it started doing it again.
Just re-pulled battery and it seems to have stopped.

Any ideas WHY it would make it annoying repeating charge sound when it is nowhere near a plug and the battery isn't dead?

Welcome to Android Central! Make sure there isn't any debris in the USB charging port. Use a can of compressed air to blow it out.

If it looks clean, try booting into Safe Mode, which disables all 3rd party apps. If the problem stops in Safe Mode, then it's possible that something you installed is causing the issue. https://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-14673

Mine does the same annoying sound. Only started after 2 weeks of buying the phone, took it into 3 store and they did a factory reset which did not fix it so I was given a new phone. I left the store and went on holiday, 3 days later the annoying sound started again. The only way to stop sounds is to turn notification sounds off but this then turns all sounds off including when you get a text. Please help
