Repeating software updates

I just purchased a used Verizon Note 5 off ebay. So far I have went through 8 software updates back to back. As soon as one is compleate another one is qued. Is this an issue with the note 5? Or is the phone possibly just catching up on multiple monthly security patches? I assume the phone may have been sitting unused for a while as it looks brand new.
