Replace HTC notification bar with stock ICS one?

One of my friends told me that replacing the SystemUI.apk would let you get rid of the stock HTC notification bar (which I don't particularly enjoy). Does anyone know if this works/if there is a method to replace the HTC notification bar with the stock ICS one?

I'm not even sure, but I highly doubt it'll work. Sounds like you'd bork your device if you actually do it.

I was about to make a new thread, but I found this one. I'm also looking to get the stock ics notification bar on my Evo Design. I'm tired of this sense one, but I have no idea on how I would be able to change it to the stock one. I'm not looking for a ROM or anything I just want the notification bar. I'm a noob when it comes to flashing and honestly, I'm still on stock ICS 4.0.3. Any help would be appreciated

What I'd like to tweak is the quicksettings menu. In GB I could toggle my GPS there, but not in ICS.
