Hi all. I need to replace the battery in my wife's tab 4 7.0 Samsung will do it for $75 😒. I was able to get to the battery and test with my son's battery which booted the tab right up. So I'm confident that's the problem.

Has anyone bought a battery from anywhere? I know eBay is full of them but I'm always cautious about getting one from there. The last thing I need is a $15 substandard battery causing a fire.

Any suggestions or thoughts? At $75 I'm tempted to wait for another tablet to go on sale and just buy that.

Well maybe someone will respond and speak directly to the tab4 replacement battery, but in general, I've bought many many batteries from online. Some were great, some were not, and ironically it wasn't always the ones I spent the most on that were better than any of the others. If you really want to know what you're getting and feel the most confident that you ever have in your device life, pay the $75. If you want something that will work and get you through until you replace the device and it may be great or it may be average. Get $4 battery online. I will say that I've never gotten a really crappy battery, they have all been average or better. You can read reviews, compare mAh and all of that but you honestly are just not going to ever be sure until you get it and use it. The way I used to look at it was at $4 what could I loose? If the device powered up and ran, I could get another battery. As for your concerns that the battery may catch fire, I'm assuming that you are be facetious. They are at least that safe.

I was actually being serious about it. Should it not be a concern regarding getting a battery from some no name off eBay that comes from China?

Sorry I'm late to respond but, no I wouldn't have been worried about a generic battery. Not worried that it would catch fire anyway. More worried that it would just be average or worse battery life. Meanwhile I'm now floored that you bought a used battery. OEM or not that seems kind of a waste. For one these batteries only have a limited number of charging cycles, are sensitive to temperature changes, and whole slew of other conditions and problems. With a new battery you can at least feel like you know where you stand. Plus you probably could have found one with a higher mAh rating. Please report back what your experience is with this new battery. I'm deff curious.
