Replacement Maxx- reset battery

I just got a replacement Maxx. Is there anything I need to do to reset or train the battery to get this thing going.?

No... just use it. DO NOT Drain the battery!!! Charge it as often as possible, this will not hurt the battery, but draining it will.

There are some apps that will do this if you want, but I don't really see any need.

Draining the battery hurts it? I let mine run quite low sometimes...

You aren't supposed to routinely drain a lithium ion battery to 10%. Charge the Maxx before it goes below 20%. Lithium ion batteries like frequent charges also. You only drain nickel cadmium batteries, not lithium ion batteries like the Maxx's battery.
