Hey all,

Was wondering what app is anyone using for text messaging? I have handcent on my Evo 3D, and they have all the plug in on market for View, but no way to install the actual app. Native sms app is boring for me and I like to customize. I emailed DEV but no response yet...

Can't get Go SMS program in market for view either...just like handcent...only skins and themes etc.

Text messaging just isn't something I do. But if you install MyAppShare (free in the market) on your EVO 3D, you can email the .apk to your EVO View. I used it to inatall every app that is on my EVO 4G, and my Droid X (but not available in the market for my EVO View), and all of them work.

All MyAppShare does is email you the market link not the actual apk file.

If what ever Android device your using is rooted you can just use a file manager like Root Explorer or Astro and send the apk file your looking for either buy email or bluetooth. You can also go to the market on you CPU and download the app you want then just transfer it to your SD card either by plugging your View in to the CPU or using a card reader.

Most app that are optimized to run on 2.3.x will run just fine on your View. You may notice some apps aren't fully optimized to run on a larger screen (Views screen is 1024 x 600) so they may not always fit just right.

You are flat-out wrong. When I searched the market for My App Sharer (note the spaces) it gave me another app that only emails a market link. Tha actual MyAppSharer does in fact email the .apk file, and is a heck of a lot easier to use than the other ways you describe.

I use handcent. Installed it on my phone(Evo 4g), backed it up with Astro file manager, uploaded to dropbox, downloaded from dropbox on my View, installed.

The Market lets developers set the phones that their apps can be installed on and the View seems to be left out a lot. I've installed several apps this way that simply didn't show up in the Market for the View.

I did this and it works perfectly.
