Most of the time when I am looking to reply to an email in the G-Mail application, I press reply, I see the touch is registered, but it does nothing, I have to press it 2 or 3 times to get it to go. I would use the HTC Application, but I want the push email that Gmail offers....I really wish HTC would give us the same.

Anyway....I did a search and only saw 1 post about this from someone with the same problem with reply all. Any fixes for this?

Thanks in advance...

same here, hopefully HTC will fix this in 2.2, very annoying. you can setup push in the MAIL app wit your gmail, but then you won't have html emails nor will they be threaded. best way to go is with the gmail app, even though this bug is out there.

Funny that you posted this today. This has been bothering me for some time now.

I also hope they create a fix for this soon. Doesn't make sense why they should have such a glaring bug in a native Google program...

Is anyone able to copy text from the gmail app? I have had several instances where I needed to copy but couldn't. Not sure if I'm just not doing it right or what. I'm still getting used to the copy function.

How do you get it to push? You can't get HTML???

I have noticed this issue as well, really annoying, especially because the 'reply' or 'forward' highlights as though it was pressed.

As far as the copying of text- i have found the only way to do so is to forward the email then scroll down to the quoted text to select it...One thing I miss about my BB was selecting text in browser, sms, email, anything, was always pretty simple....

I got the same issue with the Gmail app. This is a Google issue not HTC btw.

I'm thinking you may be correct as this is not occuring in the HTC Mail app. However, does this problem occur with the Gmail app on other Droid Devices?

I am curious if this could be one of the issues corrected with the new update when it arrives.

nope this issue never occured on the moto droid i had but does it on the HTC incredible

does that work for you? i have tried that before and it doesn't. the only thing it lets me Select, Copy, Paste is in the edit box. Since the forwarded message is not in the edit box, I am not able to copy/paste.

now if you forward a SMS message to someone, you are able to cut, copy, paste because the edit is in the compose box. And you can copy from the browser.

i miss that too from a BB, how you can select and copy ANYTHING. Also I miss how you can forward a SMS as an email.

hey doug, you can follow these instructions for the iphone, it will work on this phone too if you want to use the mail app. I tried it out initially cause i was trying to figure out which is better since it was my first android phone. The notifications were definitely push, but i didn't mess with the contacts or calendar sync.
i can't remember if it were HTML or IMAGES that weren't coming through in emails. but overall i didn't like using it much cause you don't get all the gmail features as you do with the gmail app.
