Reportedly 300,000 Evos sold

They always understock.
They did with the Instinct and Palm Pre.

I hope the numbers are actually better than the Palm Pre's numbers. Also, the Palm Pres had more returns... many more returns.

That's pathetic. Obviously there are tons of people out there who want one and can't get one. This is a huge mistake on both Sprint and HTC's part.

What Sprint needs to do is make more available for a phone launch and just hope for the best. Most high profile phones they release sell really well and go out of stock. With more supply in the beginning, they can get the sales numbers they need before people get sick of waiting and move to the next big phone.

It's not always the resellers fault, if sprint ordered 1 million and HTC only had the parts for 400,000 then sprint just has to wait for the rest. Regaurdless of poor planning or not, htc also relies on other manufactures to supply their parts, if they are short then htc is short. There are alot of arguments to made here about why they are short, but only time will tell if this will hurt or not hurt sprint.
