Do you think the 1TB Version of the phone will hold its value better than the other versions of the phone? Or, do you think it'll depreciate similarly or faster?

All of them will depreciate similarly quickly. The only phones (from experience) that hold their value well anymore are iPhones.

All Samsung phones lose their value pretty fast. The 1TB will always be worth a little more as it's top of the line.
If you buying for investment, forget about it.

Just sold my Note 9 512GB and it was like pulling teeth to get decent money for it.

No, I fully realize the phone will depreciate - they all do. I just wondered if this one would do so faster (small market for it) or slower (fewer produced, higher in demand in the future).

I guess time will tell.

you might pay 1,600 for it today, you will probably not even get 1k for it in 5 months

If you are thinking about resale value then you should buy the base version. Even for trade ins they won't even consider yours is higher storage or anything. Private sale also higher storage models will take the max hit.

If anything, the ceramic models will probably be worth less, faster. The market is smaller, and people spending that kind of money will just buy a new one.

Ditto what they said. Buy it because you want/need it but you will get killed in resale. Very few people are going to appreciate the ceramic and extra memory when most people use a case and can throw an SD card in. It will definitely be worth more but after a couple years you would prob be lucky to see a couple hundred more after spending +$600?

I think it will depreciate faster because most people most likely don't use anywhere that amount of storage or need a ceramic back so they won't find it necessary to pay extra if they are honest about what to they really need. There some outlier users that will store all their hi-res media on the device and they will be willing to pay but I'm guessing that's a small segment. On the other hand if less units are sold they scarcity of the model could bump it up. Honestly I'm a fan of more storage but to me 256GB is a good number coupled with an SD card. I've always wanted a phone with ceramic back. It would be nice if it was available on the models with less storage. I'm hearing it adds weight but I'm not sure if that's good or bad.

How much you get? Here in UK on comparison sites it’s only going for 430 for the 512GB model while the XX max 256GB is going for 700

Got $800. for it with a bunch of cases and wireless charger.
iPhone's are always easier to sell and hold their value quite well.

Got top dollar for my iPhone XS Max 512GB when I sold it a couple months back.

That's low for a XS Max. I just sold my 256 GB one for $1149 USD, which was actually more than what I owed on it.

Where did you sell it at? I plan to sell my XS Max 256gb Gold AT&T on Swappa when the new one comes in. Already paid it off and sent the unlock request in to help with the resale value.

eBay. iPhones are risky to sell on eBay because there are a lot of scammers. You just have to stick with selling it through the auction or sale, because people will try to make crazy offers through messages that are a scam

I always use swappa. eBay is just infested with scammers to me.

They are. Unless you're experienced I wouldn't recommend it. I've sold enough to recognize the scams immediately.

I can usually sense them.. but I'd rather just not even deal with a place when there are better alternatives.
