Hello!

I've noticed on my gear s3 that every time my phone dies and gets disconnected from the watch, I have to reset the watch to reconnect it. Is this normal, or is there something wrong? I don't really feel like I should have to reset it as often as I have, but it seems to be the only solution. I just wanted to see if anyone else was having the same thing happen to them.

That is not normal... You might want to uninstall the gear app and re-install. Maybe that is the issue?

I don't always carry my phone and my watch often disconnects, so definite issue there, I have learned how far down the street I can go with mine before It disconnects usly 3 to 4 houses depending on direction from were my phone sits in my house, and it always reconnects almost immediately

Welcome to Android Central. I would be concerned about letting the phone die. Do you mean you run the battery down to zero? If so that will kill the battery.

I just sent mine off to Samsung for warranty repair for that and a number of other intermittent failures.

I recall during the initial connection between the Gear app and the watch something about an option to keep the phones background apps running when inactive as necessary to prevent disconnections. It was noted that selecting that option would increase battery draw.
