resetting messenger photo defualt

I accidentally assigned the photo option as the default for when uploading photos messenger, I hate it because it won't let them be shown in a folder format like gallery does, which gallery is what I'm wanting as my default for it.... all ways to reset the defualt app that I have found so far do not work or cover the messenger itself.

Welcome to Android Central! The Photos app (the one with the pinwheel icon) is part of the Google+ app, so go to the App Manager, select Google+, and Clear Defaults.
