restarts / shuts down almost daily now

I've had this phone for about 2 months now. for my first month, once or twice when i picked up a call, the phone would continue to vibrate through my entire conversation, and maybe once a week it would randomly restart itself..

but now it does it every single day, sometimes even twice. one night last week, it shut off-didnt turn back on-while plugged into the charger, and (ive never heard of any phone ever doing this) with the phone off my alarm failed to go off - ive never ever had a phone who's alarm didnt still work even when the phone was off.

i get this is a new phone, but i shelled out the whole $500 for it

anyone else?



i dont even feel comfortable selling it on craigslist..

I am basically having the same problem. I have been late to work a few times now because it shuts off at night and i use my phone as an alarm clock lol

I am having the same problem....I hate this damn phone now lol.....When it works, i love it but its shuts down all the damn time....I can literally talk on the phone, soon as im done talking, it will freeze up and go to a blank screen. Or if its in my pocket and im working outside, it will shut down and freeze up....I totally dont understand it....Is there any thing that someone has done to remedy these lock-ups? This is just out of control, a $500 phone that shuts down all the damn time.

If you're not rooted and don't want to try a custom ROM (I've had none of these problems on CM7.1) you can try a factory reset.

Being rooted and the occasional (every 10 days or so) fix permissions in the advance menu of CWM seems to keep it on an even keel. If I don't, then about day 11 or 12, it'll start it's reboot cycle. For me that's about once an hour or so.

This is with the stock rom. I've tried most of the other roms, (GB based included) but the stock rom seems to work best on mine when it isn't busy rebooting.

had a small screen defect with my first so I had tmo send me a replacement out of the box it shut down on me rebooted 4 times at work then shut down last night so right now its in the box and will be sent back

Same issue. My 3rd G2x is on its way to me right now. Should be delivered this afternoon. The good news is if I still have issues, I'm now eligible for a device change. Does anyone know what TMO is offering to G2x owner who go through 3 warranty exchanges? I'm torn. I love the G2x in THEORY. Is the Sensation better? Should I be willing to accept the smaller screen and go with the MyTouch4G Slide?

I haven't heard anything really good about the Sensation. It seems to have it's share of issues too.

Okay here is the scoop. As I said above I'm on my 3rd G2x. Basically I was told by customer support that if I wanted they would give me a G2 to replace my G2x. After getting really angry and arguing I asked for a supervisor and he ended up allowing me to order a new phone of my choosing at tier one pricing. Annoying, but at least I get to keep my G2x! I will now attempt to sell it and get back the money I am going to pay for the Sensation which I ordered. Bye bye faulty G2x, hello faulty Sensation. Let's hope my 3rd Android phone is the charm!

I have my third coming on Friday hopefully its solid if not I'm going to box it back up and ask for a different device I still have an open line on Verizon and have no issue with going back. I just feel like I chose the wrong device. but so far I'm completely happy with the way T-Mobile has handled the situation. honestly I don't even want a sensation I just want a device I don't have to hard reboot 4 times a day at work to get data or shutdown/reboot king
